We started off the night with #SiliconBeach’s highly talented Matt Cavanagh presenting the latest addition to his family of innovative devices: a 3D Printer. The audience was engrossed with the process of creating a 3D model and saw him make a model firsthand.
Next up on the night was one of our very own developers, Duncan Scholtz who showcased Google’s Nexus 7 tablet and revealed Android’s latest software developments with Jelly Bean.
It was a battle of the digital Titans as Duncan was followed by our amateur comedy duo, Jitesh Nunnan & James Smith who demoed the much-awaited iPhone 5, which had not officially been released in South Africa yet. Both Jitesh and James explored the world of iOS 6 and the numerous upgrades of the latest iPhone.
Suffice it say, #SiliconBeach was able to take home a great deal of digital insights. “Open Night was very informative. It was great seeing the iPhone 5 in person before most people in the country. Matt’s 3D printer was fascinating, too. Hope to see more events like these soon,” said one of our guest, Venu Kistasami. And on that note, check out our site for the next one.
